1. Does the Company Have Welders with a Variety of Metallurgical Specializations?

One question you should ask when you first speak to the fabrication company has to do with the welders that they employ. Do they have general knowledge and experience when it comes to welding? Or does each one of them specialize in specific types of welding or metals?

Second, the company should have been assessed and certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction, or AISC. This organization ensures that fabrication companies meet their standards for knowledge, skill, and experience.

Not only do you want to make sure that they have the proper certifications, but they should also have welders that specialize in specific metals and techniques.
